Melody Wechsler MD, 78, September 2, 2021, loving mother of Jeremy (Anne Penniston) and David; cherished grandmother of Z and Talia; dear sister of Judith (George) Abell, Holly (the late Amarshi) Bhungalia and Mitzi Meyerson; adored aunt of Jenna (Anthony Sanchez) Abell, Joshua (Jennifer) Abell, Lisa and Amy Bhungalia. Chapel Service, Sunday September 5, 2021 2 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. September 4th, 2021

This photo was from a sleepover we had at my house with Melody and the girls. It was such a delight for all of us. I can still hear her reading stories to them in that high-pitched voice she used with them, doing all of the voices, and earnestly telling the story bit by bit. One of my favorite memories. I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time with Melody along with her grandchildren, and I’ve never seen such joy as I did between those grandchildren and their grandmother. She would always bring them special surprises – candy, books, movies, games – and create beautiful memories, like having tea parties on the stairs of their house. I know it’s a tradition that the kids will carry on with their own children and grandchildren. Melody was such a completely open and loving person, and I’m so grateful to have known her. I will miss her, as will so many others.
